Neurological Program

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at University Hospital offers comprehensive therapy examination and treatment for individuals with neurological dysfunction. Neurological dysfunction may result if you have experienced a stroke, brain injury, brain tumor, amputation, spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis.

Treatments include techniques to enhance:

• ambulation
• transfers
• activities of daily living
• balance
• speech/language difficulties
• independent living skills

Strength, range of motion, coordination and cognitive retraining are also addressed.

Programs are based on individual needs and goals with patient education and home program being paramount to the plan of care.

A physician's referral is required for examination and treatment within this program.
