Hand Rehabilitation Program

The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at University Hospital offers a program specializing in the rehabilitation of arm and hand injuries. The program provides an extensive therapy examination and individualized treatment for arm and hand injuries.

Disorders may be due to repetative injury, fractures, tendon injuries, joint disease, soft tissue trauma, burns, and nerve injury. The program includes therapists that are certified in the treatment of hands and arm injury.

Treatments may include
therapeutic modalities, such as:

  • therapeutic exercises (strengthening, range of motion)
  • functional activities
  • static and dynamic splinting
  • application of heat or cold
  • home exercises
  • joint protection programs
therapist stimulating patients hand. A physician’s referral is required for examination and treatment within this program.
