Pediatric Rehabilitation

The Rehabilitation Unit at University Hospital is the only Acute Pediatric Rehabilitation in Central New York. We provide services to children 12 months of age and up and their families after suffering from an unexpected injury, developmental issues or medical illnesses. We specialize in the treatment of brain injury and neuromuscular disorders.
With the families help, familiar toys, pictures and friendly faces will surround the pediatric patient during the rehabilitation stay. Programs are developed with the child's age and developmental level at mind. We have the ability to use the following services:

• Pediatric Playroom
• Hospital School Teacher
• Age appropriate toys and Equipment
• Animal Assisted Therapy
• Community Outings

Through coordinated interdisciplinary team rehabilitation and follow up, children can achieve the greatest level of independence and success possible.

Patient's can continue their rehabilitation
in our outpatient pediatric program.
