EducationMild traumatic brain injury, or concussion, represents about 80% of all traumatic brain injury, and is a significant public health issue. The director and other staff at the Center provide ongoing community education services aimed at raising awareness about concussion and post-concussion syndrome.
Head Games
Head Games is a presentation aimed at athletes, parents, coaches, athletic directors, trainers, and others concerned with sports-related concussion. Other seminars are developed as needed for different audiences such as school teachers and administrators, physicians and other medical professionals, or representatives from insurance companies. The Center also seeks to promote the implementation of up-to-date guidelines and protocols for management of sports-related concussion at area schools, colleges, and athletic leagues.
