Patient Relations/Satisfaction
Patient Relations is a service University Hospital offers to all patients, family members and visitors who need someone to act as an advocate on
their behalf. Patient Relations staff is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM through 4:30 PM to assist you in answering questions and
resolving concerns. A Patient Relations staff member will act as a liaison between the patient and the clinical staff (physicians and nurses) caring
for them.

Patients have the right to voice questions, concerns and/or complaints regarding any aspect of the care and services offered throughout the
University Hospital campus. Patient Relations will work with you to help get your concerns addressed and resolved.
Patient Relations will:
- Speak with your physician
- Speak with your nurse
- Speak with physician administrators, nursing administrators and/or hospital administrators
- Arrange a family meeting for patients, their family members and members of the clinical team responsible for your care
- Answer questions regarding hospital policies, practices and procedures
- Assist you with parking issues
- Assist patient, families and visitors who are disabled in obtaining services
- Assist in obtaining social services, case management and/or pastoral care
- Assist you with issues of lost property
If you feel that Patient Relations has not provided a satisfactory resolution to your concerns, you may ask for information about what University
Hospital's Grievance Committee process may offer you. The Grievance Committee does not review concerns related to billing matters unless it
involves inappropriate Medicare/Medicaid billing.
