Hematology/Hematopathology/Special Hematopathology
Our laboratory offers comprehensive services in hematology, including peripheral blood analysis in our core clinical laboratory, morphologic studies of peripheral blood, bone marrow and lymhoid tissues, immunophenotyping, hemostasis and thrombosis evaluation, and red blood cell studies. We also coordinate closely with Anatomic Pathology, Cytogenetics, Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics laboratories to provide a full range of diagnostic services.
Our faculty includes five full-time board certified hematopathologists, our technical staff is superb, and we offer an excellent training program in hematopathology. Our faculty participate in both adult and pediatric cooperative oncology groups, and are active in research and teaching as well as diagnostic pathology. Hematology and hematopathology are traditional areas of excellence at SUNY Upstate Medical University and this tradition continues today.
