Cytogenetics

The Cytogenetics Laboratory is a full service lab offering karyotype analysis on cells cultured from the following specimen types: amniotic fluid, bone marrow, peripheral blood, and tissue. Specialized studies, including high resolution analysis and FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization), allow detection of microdeletions and other cryptic chromosome anomalies.

The eight skilled technologists provide high quality results in the shortest possible time. Coordination between the Cytogenetics Lab, Molecular Diagnostics Lab, Pediatric Genetics, and the Perinatal Center ensures the delivery of state of the art services in genetics.
