at University Hospital

The Department of Neurology provides a range of specialty services to patients with neurological disorders, in both out patient and inpatient settings.

Our outpatient services include specialty clinics in:

• amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
• epilepsy
• headache
• movement disorders
• multiple sclerosis
• neuro-ophthalmology
• neuro-psychology
• pedatric neurology
• pediatric neuromuscular disease
• peripheral neuropathy.
• postpolio syndrome
• sleep medicine

In addition general neurological evaluation and treatment is also available. Outpatient diagnostic services are provided through the clinical neurophysiology laboratory, and include EMG and nerve conduction studies, EEG, and evoked potentials.

On the inpatient side, a comprehensive epilepsy monitoring unit provides detailed evaluation or patients with complex or hard to treat epileptic disorders.

In addition, neurological patients are cared for in the neuroscience intensive care unit, the stepdown unit, and the general neurology floor. An active neurological consultation service sees patients admitted to other areas of the hospital who also have neurological issues.
