Geriatricians

Sharon A. Brangman, MD, FACP, AGSF
Sharon A. Brangman, MD has been on the faculty at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York since October 1989. She is currently Professor of Medicine and Division Chief of Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Medicine. She is the director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program and is director of the Central New York Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center.
Dr. Brangman received her undergraduate degree in biology from Syracuse University and her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse in 1981. She completed residency training in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, New York, where she also completed fellowship training in geriatric medicine. Dr. Brangman is certified in internal medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society, and was elected to the board of the American Geriatrics Society in May, 2002.

Jeanne Bishop, MD
Jeanne E. Bishop, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She has received her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in Chemistry, her graduate degree from Stanford University in Physical Therapy and her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Bishop completed her residency training in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, New York and her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at UCLA Multicampus Division of Geriatrics, Los Angeles, CA. She is certified in internal medicine and has her Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine. She is also a Certified Medical Director through the American Medical Directors Association.
In addition, she is the Medical Director of James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Syracuse, New York.
Dr Bishop received the Hospice Anita Award: "For Active Listening, Presence at the Bedside, and Highest Standards of Practice in End-of-Life Care" 2003.

Eileen Rosencrants, PA
Eileen Rosencrants is a Certified Physician Assistant and Respiratory Therapist. She received her Physician Assistant certfication in 1991 and was again re-certified in 1997. She became a Registered Respiratory Therapist in 1985. She worked as a Physician Assistant at Coastal Rehabilitation Hospital in Wilmington, CC from 1995-2001.

Christine Heagle Bahn, RN, NP, GNP
Ms. Bahn is a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and a certified Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. She received her B.S. and Masters in nursing as well as her B.S. in psychology from Syracuse University. She worked at The Jewish Home of CNY as a nurse practitioner from 1986 to 1995. |

Social Worker |

Nancy H. Calhoun
Ms. Calhoun is a certified social worker and received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and her certificates in social work and gerontology from Syracuse University. She is a senior counselor for the Program in Geriatrics at the SUNY Health Science Center and University Hospital, and senior social worker for University Geriatricians and the Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center in Syracuse. She previously worked for the Syracuse Housing Authority as a family service supervisor and at Loretto Geriatric Center as director of Housing.

Betsy Holden, LPN
Betsy has been working as a nurse specializing in senior care at nursing homes, home visits and outpatient services since 1980. She currently holds an LPN license and is working on her RN degree. She joined our team at University Geriatricians in 1998.
