Finances: Insurance

Most insurance companies cover genetic evaluation and genetic consultation (i.e. genetic counseling) fees. However, as policies vary, you need to check with your insurance company to determine the benefits, restrictions and exclusions of your particular policy. In many situations, prior authorization or other paperwork may be required for your visit with us. You are responsible for being sure that these have been obtained before your visit.

If you are unsure about your insurance requirements, please call your insurance representative. If insurance information is incomplete, the patient will be billed directly. Please bring the insurance card to the appointment.

This means you are responsible for co-pays, deductibles, and any services not covered by your insurance. Please verify that authorization from your insurance company, if needed, has been obtained before you come to the appointment.

PLEASE NOTE: As a courtesy, we send bills to other insurance companies. However, please note that you are responsible for making all payments, including co-pays and deductibles. You also need to make sure that authorization from your insurance company has been obtained prior to your visit(s) here.
