hospital in Central New York has dedicated the
extraordinary depth of resources it takes to best
meet the needs of children. It’s the one with the
academic difference. University Hospital, future

University Hospital—the site of the Central New York Children's Hospital (opening 2007)—offers the region's most advanced and comprehensive pediatric care. Among its unique services are the region's only dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Center for Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders and Center for Children's Surgery. It is also the only hospital where pediatric open heart surgeries are performed, where previously inoperable brain tumors are treated via Gamma Knife radiosurgery and where kidney and pancreas transplantation is conducted.
University Hospital's Department of Pediatrics is home to more than 50 pediatric subspecialists, who recognize that "children are not just small adults", and collaborate with a highly sophisticated network of support staff to meet the unique medical, emotional and social needs of children.
University Hospital and its outpatient programs host more than 55,000 patient visits annually.
