Team Upstate participated in the annual Duck Race to End Racism in June. Our 2009 duck featured Upstate’s values of discovery, innovation, respect, integrity and community service.

Upstate had the largest team with 56 runners/walkers at the 13th annual Paige's Butterfly Run in June. More than 1,200 participated in the event, and raised over $100,000 for pediatric cancer research and patient care.

Upstate employees participated in the 15th Annual Miracle Ride for Children in May, to support pediatric services at Golisano Children's Hospital. Nearly 800 bikers enjoyed a 63-mile ride and barbeque, and raised over $60,0000.

Upstate students and employees cheered on the Upstate band "Tachycardia" at Rockin' the Red Cross, a battle of the corporate bands to benefit the American Red Cross, in April.

Upstate students and employees participated in the March for Babies in April, and raised more than $11,000 for March of Dimes.

More than 400 Upstate students, employees and friends joined the Heart Walk in April, and raised more than $30,000 for the American Heart Association.
