Kidney disease affects millions of Americans and can lead to kidney failure. Without therapy, patients with kidney failure will die. Often, this intervention involves a kidney transplant.
Upstate University Transplant Services offers a comprehensive kidney transplant program for patients suffering from End-Stage Renal (Kidney) Disease (ESRD), the final stage of kidney failure. Our Surgeons perform nearly 50 kidney transplants annually (over 4,100 transplants overall) making Upstate's kidney transplant program one of the most experienced kidney transplant programs in the upstate New York area. We have received the Bronze Level Award for organ donor and transplantation from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Upstate Kidney Transplant Program has the shortest wait time to transplant of any program in New York State.
