Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS)

This CMS survey asks patients whether they would recommend the hospital to their friends and family. The patients have choices of "definitely no;" "probably no;" "probably yes;" and "definitely yes." "Definitely yes" is the strongest positive answer. The value represents the percentage of patients who answered "definitely yes" to this survey question. A greater willingness to recommend the hospital means that the patient was more satisfied with their experience. HCAHPS survey questions provide a method for comparison among hospitals on topics that are important to patients. A higher score is better.

Desired Trend: Increase
Goal: To consistently exceed the US average score of 68%.
