Electron Microscope Core Facility

A full-time specialist maintains the facility, which contains two JEOL-100X transmission electron microscopes, one of which is equipped with an ASID attachment for scanning.

Peripheral equipment include:

Riechert-Jung FC4E
Several Dupont MT2-B ultramicrotimes for both frozen and plastic-embedded thin sectioning
Cressington CFE-50 freeze fracture apparatus
Fully equipped darkroom for developing EM films
