![]() James F Dwyer, Ph.D.Associate Professor, Bioethics and Humanities 618 Irving Ave Research Program and Department AffiliationsBioethics and Humanities Research InterestsHealth, justice and democracy; global health and ethics; personal. professional, and social responsibility Much of the work in bioethics has focused on ethical issues about research, clinical decisions, and the use of new technology. Too little work has focused on the social conditions, policies, and decisions that have a profound effect on people's health. In my research, I try to correct this imbalance. I examine social conditions, population health, and health inequalities. I try to focus more attention on issues of justice that arise at the local, national, and global level.
