Outreach Activities in
Public Health and Preventive Medicine
The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine provides opportunities for MPH and medical students to see public health and preventive medicine in action. Students work side by side with public health practitioners in a variety of settings including local health departments, community agencies and faith-based groups. Faculty, also, provide assistance to these groups through consultation and research.
Master of Public Health Student Experience
Through their fieldwork and Culminating Experience experiences, Master of Public Health students experience first- hand the principles and practices they learn in the classroom.

Fieldwork and Culminating Experience
Medical Student Experience
Medical students, in the preventive medicine component of their medical education, observe public health practitioners in such varied settings as the local county jail, early intervention and lead screening program. They can further sharpen their public knowledge and skills by doing a public health elective or public health selective.

CRE Mission
In collaboration with the clinical and research faculty of SUNY Upstate Medical University, the CRE will conduct research and execute data analyses designed to guide the improvement of patient care and associated patient outcomes.
