Syracuse Book Illustrator London Ladd, right, visited University Hospital's pediatric units Feb. 18 to talk about his illustrations for the children's book, "March On!: The Day My Brother Martin Changed the World," written by Christine King Farris, sister of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ladd gave the pediatric patients sketchbooks. The children also received autographed copies of "March On!," made possible in part through funding provided by The Shannon Froio Foundation. Ladd also appeared on Rev. Weez's Story Hour, a program of University Hospital’s Spiritual Care Services. Photographed with Ladd are University Hospital patient Alyssa Bell, far left, her sister, Amelia, seated at table, and their mother, Julie Bell. Ladd’s appearance at the hospital was coordinated by Colleen Baish, child life specialist, as part of SUNY Upstate's Black History Month celebration.
