Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
The
division consists of five full-time child psychiatrists and six full-time
child psychologists, who supervise a general child psychiatric clinic
and specialized clinical and/or research programs in pediatric psychopharmacology,
attention deficit disorder, family therapy, chronic illness, child abuse,
infant attachment, school consultations, play therapy, and foster care.
The University Hospital clinic maintains well-equipped facilities,
including playrooms and a one-way observation suite which also allows
for videotaping. A child psychiatric inpatient unit, and adolescent
psychiatric inpatient unit, a day treatment program, and a mobile mental
health unit are housed at Hutchings Psychiatric Center. The required
rotation and electives in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry may be individualized
to include trainees' and students' participation in any of the Division's
activities.
