Research Abstract

Mantosh Dewan, MD is Professor and Chair, Department of Psychiatry at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, where he has also served as Director of Undergraduate Education and Director of Residency Training. His 200 papers, abstracts and presentations are on topics that range from brain imaging and economics of mental health care to psychotherapy. He is co-Editor of two books:  The Difficult to Treat Psychiatric Patient [2001], which has been translated into Italian and Spanish and The Art and Science of Brief Psychotherapies [2004], which has been chosen for the Core Competencies in Psychotherapy Series by the American Psychiatric Associations’ press. He has an active clinical practice and is listed in The Best Doctors in America. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has received the Scientific Achievement Award from the Indo-American Psychiatrists Association and the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from NAMI. He is on the Editorial Board of Annals of Clinical Psychiatry and Surgical Neurology.
