Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

The division consists of five full-time child psychiatrists and six full-time child psychologists, who supervise a general child psychiatric clinic and specialized clinical and/or research programs in pediatric psychopharmacology, attention deficit disorder, family therapy, chronic illness, child abuse, infant attachment, school consultations, play therapy, and foster care.

The University Hospital clinic maintains well-equipped facilities, including playrooms and a one-way observation suite which also allows for videotaping. A child psychiatric inpatient unit, and adolescent psychiatric inpatient unit, a day treatment program, and a mobile mental health unit are housed at Hutchings Psychiatric Center. The required rotation and electives in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry may be individualized to include trainees' and students' participation in any of the Division's activities.
