Early Admission—College of Health Professions4+3 Early Admission for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree ProgramStudents accepted into the 4 + 3 Early Admission Program for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Degree Program may attend the college of their choice for their baccalaureate degree. These students will have guaranteed acceptance into SUNY Upstate Medical University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program upon completion of their bachelor's degree providing they have met all conditions outlined in their letter of acceptance. Students may apply for early admission to the DPT program while in high school or after the completion of their second year of college. Students accepted under the Early Admission Program will not be required to take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam). Students may enroll in the College and program of their choice for their undergraduate studies. Early Admission Students will be required to complete 40 hours of pre-requisite courses as part of their bachelor degree program as well as volunteer or work experience in physical therapy as specified in their letter of acceptance. Students accepted under the early admission program will not be required to take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam). Students must maintain a 3.3 cumulative GPA and a 3.3 prerequisite GPA during their first three years of college. Third Year College StudentsApplicants who meet the following criteria will be considered for early admission:
Students accepted under the Early Admission program will be guaranteed 1st year graduate status upon completion of their baccalaureate degree program providing they have completed all prerequisites as outlined in the letter of acceptance. |
