SUNY Upstate Medical University President David R. Smith, M.D., joins University of Miami President Donna E. Shalala, Ph.D., at a press conference March 13 at the SUNY
Upstate-sponsored symposium On the Other Side of the Glass Ceiling: Reflections on the Status of Women in Science and Academia. The symposium was
held in lieu of an inauguration for Smith, who became president of SUNY Upstate on September 1.
