Our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve through education, biomedical research, and health care. Everything we do at Upstate—teaching students, discovering new knowledge through research, and caring for patients—is done to achieve that goal.
As Central New York's only academic medical center, we educate more than 1,200 students in our four colleges—Medicine, Graduate Studies, Health Professions, Nursing—as well as on our Binghamton Campus. We also host 450 graduate physicians in our residency and fellowship training programs and provide continuing education to practitioners.
Our fast-growing research enterprise is advanced by our faculty who are investigating more than 400 funded research projects.
We offer dozens of health care services that are unique to our region, and each year we see 140,000 patients at University Hospital and our outpatient clinics.
