In our continuing effort to achieve the highest precision in Radiation Therapy, University Hospital is proud to announce the purchase of the GE LightSpeed RT CT Simulator again taking the lead in CNY with the most advanced technology available. The GE LightSpeed RT CT Simulation is one of the latest advances in the field of Radiation Oncology for the treatment of cancer.
The CT Simulation is used to localize, define, and reconstruct, in 3-dimensions, a patient's tumor in the most accurate way possible. Digitally Reconstructed Radiographs (DRRs) are created from CT data to build a virtual patient model. DRR enhanced tools, such as custom mixing and blending, enable the clear visualization of prostate, bladder, kidneys, vertebral body, and bone simultaneously, in addition to the delineation of soft tissues and airways. This process identifies the tumor as well as the normal tissue surrounding it, allowing your physician to design a treatment plan unique to each patient. All of the data is downloaded from the CT Simulator to the Eclipse Treatment Planning Computer where using virtual simulation software the physician delineates the target and from this the treatment plan is developed. The approved treatment plan is then sent to the treatment machine for the patients treatment sessions. |
