Radiation Therapist Tuition Funding Program

The Department of Radiation Oncology, Hill Radiation Oncology, UHS Radiation Oncology, and Oswego County Radiation Oncology are pleased to announce the creation of a Tuition Funding Program for students enrolled in the Radiation Therapy Technology Program at SUNY College of Health Professions at Syracuse.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Must be accepted to the College of Health Professions at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
  • Provide one letter of reference from each of the following:
    • academic instructor
    • current or former employer
    • mentor/advisor
  • Current students in second year must have letter of recommendation from current faculty member of school.
  • Provide complete college transcript.
  • Complete a personal essay to include the following:
    • Career goals
    • Special financial needs
    • Personal contribution or interest in the healthcare field
  • Participate in a personal interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee.

Distribution of Awards

Scholarships will be awarded for each new starting class. Scholarships will be payable after the successful completion of each semester and upon receipt of transcript.

Student's Obligations

  • Remain a full time student in the College of Health Professions Science Program at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
  • Good standing in all academic classes and coursework.
  • Maintain professional behavior and conduct throughout the program as required by the College of Health Professions at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
  • Take and successfully complete all examinations or other requirements required by New York State, and obtain a New York State license, within six (6) months of achieving eligibility.
  • Successfully complete Upstate Medical University Hospital's or Research Foundation of SUNY’s employment application process including Employee Health's required medical examination as well as hospital credentialing requirements.
  • Fulfill a 12-24-month commitment to work at Upstate Medical University or other affiliated offices as a technologist/therapist based on departmental needs.
