Residency Hospitals & Statistics
During the 6-year program, the neurosurgery residents
are intimately involved in patient care and research.
The department performs
over 1600 surgical cases annually at three hospital locations, which
are clustered together on one medical campus.:
University Hospital houses a 6-bed
Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit and a Neuro Step-Down Unit. It is also the
only Level-1 Trauma Center in the 17-county area between Rochester and Albany
and offers the most advanced technology to care for the most seriously ill and
injured.
