Gary Wang, MD
Robert Weber, M.D. — Is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Director of the residency program.
His clinical and research interests include electrodiagnosis and the enhancement of physical performance in individuals with disability on the "Physical Medicine" side and public health related aspects of disability and brain injury management on the "Rehabilitation" side of the specialty. He is a Past President of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, active in rehabilitation program development and in the international development of Rehabilitation Medicine. In this area of interest he frequently visits and the Department often hosts colleagues from China for academic exchanges.
Rina Davis, M. D. — Dr. Davis completed her undergraduate degree at Vassar College before moving to Philadelphia to attend Medical School at Hahnemann University. She did a transitional internship at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem and residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
She moved to Syracuse to join the staff as an assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation where she is beginning her 8th year as a faculty member at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Davis is an attending physician at the Rehab Path Program at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center and on staff at the VA Medical Center, Crouse Hospital, St. Joseph's and Community General. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine and is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner. She is very active in the education of both residents and medical students and has served as an ICM small group leader for 4 years now.
Her clinical interests include Musculoskeletal and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.
D. Randy Greenberg —
Karl Klamar, M.D. — Dr. Klamar is a native of Ohio. He attended Kenyon College for undergraduate studies and medical school at the College Of Ohio at Toledo. He remained in Toledo for a Transitional Year in the Department of Internal Medicine at Medical College Hospital before moving on to Syracuse for residency in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In his PGY-4 year, Dr. Klamar also served as Chief Resident.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Klamar accepted an appointment as assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He is currently attending physician for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program and the RehabPath program at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He is a member of the medical staffs at University Hospital, Crouse Hospital, and the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Additional clinical activities include musculoskeletal Medicine through the Institute for Spine Care, and as attending physician for Community Options, an outpatient and residential treatment center for persons with brain injuries. His research and teaching interests include neurology, Visual rehabilitation and brain injury.

Stephen R. Lebduska —
Margaret A. Turk — Margaret A. Turk, MD is Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University at Syracuse, with a joint appointment in the Department of Pediatrics. She is also Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. She received her NM and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. Prior to her appointment in New York, Dr. Turk was an Assistant Professor at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus and Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Turk serves as a Director of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and chairs the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Examination Committee. She participates as a delegate to the American Board of Medical Specialties, where she serves on the Task Force on Competence and chairs the Nominating Committee. Dr. Turk was selected to participate in the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program for Women, a national program for senior women in academic health centers.
She is active nationally with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and was the Chair for the 2OOO Annual Assembly. She has recently been elected to represent the Association of Academic Physicians in the AAMC Council of Academic Societies.
In addition to her clinical and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Turk is involved in rehabilitation research and has been funded by CDC over the past 10 years for projects related to secondary conditions of and health promotion for persons with disabilities. Her publications and national and international presentations have been on pediatric rehabilitation, secondary conditions, health promotion in disability, and the health of women with disabilities. She is Chairman of the Medical Rehabilitation Research Subcommittee, NICHD, NIH.
She has served on a variety of program planning committees for CDC, NIH, and NIDRR, and participated in the Institute of Medicine report on rehabilitation science and engineering, Enabling America. She participates with the NYS DOH Disability Prevention Program Working Group on Secondary Conditions.
Within SUNY Syracuse, she has been active in faculty governance, and completed two terms each as Chairman of the Medical College Assembly and Faculty Organization.
Gary G. Wang, M. D., Ph.D. — Dr. Wang is a native of Sichuan, China. He attended medical school at West China University of Medical Sciences in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, China. He also had his post-medical training and practice on medical genetics, medical immunology at West China University of Medical Sciences, Beijing Medical University and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences before moving to Houston, Texas, where he completed his Ph.D. degree in molecular biology. Dr. Wang had his PGY1 year in internal medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and PGY2-4 in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Buffalo, New York.
Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He is currently an attending physician of the Rehabilitation Center at the University Hospital and a member of the medical staffs of the Syracuse VA Medical Center, Crouse Hospital, Community General.
His research and teaching interests include brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation, spasticity and musculoskeletal pain management, and lab work on neural stem cell transplantation and immune cell reaction to stress.
