The New York Times Navigator includes excellent reference sites for governmental, medical, political, social information, as well as other interesting sites of all types. Note: this service is free but you have to register once to be a user.

NN/LM -The National Network of Libraries of Medicine An annotated National Library of Medicine guide to a collection of excellent websites of interest to health professionals, librarians and consumers.
GeneralPediatrics.com "The General Pediatrician's View of the Internet." This is a really excellent, comprehensive collection of Pediatric sites.
The Best of the Pediatric Internet An excellent annotated selection by the American Academy of Pediatrics
Points of Pediatric Interest A very large collection of sites from Johns Hopkins Department of Pediatrics
 A Pediatricians Guide to the Internet  A good collection of websites from the U. of Minnesota
Hardin Meta Directory of Internet Health Sources Hardin Meta Directory pages have pointers to the most complete and frequently cited lists in each subject. "We list the sites that list the sites"
PEDINFO Home Page This is a very useful source of many different web sites of interest to Pediatricians. It is periodically updated. Highly recommended!
EMedicine Free online medical texts for medical professionals and the public. This site is just getting going, with only Emergency Medicine completed. Looks interesting!
Virtual Hospital of University of Iowa College of Medicine  provides patient care support and distance learning to practicing physicians and other healthcare professionals. Its Iowa Health Book provides information to the general public on a variety of health issues.
International Child Health: A Digest of current information from the International Pediatric Association
International Pediatric Chat International Pediatric Chat is a not for profit organization of pediatric professionals who use live Internet typing (chat) and voice chat as a means of communicating with one another.

Pediatric Internet Directory in addition to showing a lot of information similar to other collections, I particulary like Medical Matrix, A Guide to Internet Clinical Medicine Resources, which offers several Medline resources.
Medscape you have to register with Medscape(free), but then have access to Medline since 1966, journals, topics, news, patient information, large collection of peer-reviewed articles. Has a very good interface for Medline.
MedWeb a little overwhelming; a lot of useful sites, some junk, but worth browsing
MDchoice  A new medical information finder, providing free access to online physician reviewed information. Search, online journals, news, and info for doctors and consumers. Dr. Richman is on the Board.
Net Medicine A general link to a variety of programs, including RxList, Pediatric Topics, Medline, photos, EKGs medical searches, simulations, etc
 Medical Search Engines and Meta-Sites  A comprehensive collection of links and medical search engines from U.Conn. Very interesting sites, including new ones I haven't seen elsewhere. Have a look!
PDRNet  Includes online PDR and. a huge list of resources and information for health care professionals and consumers. You need to register once.
Epidemiology A web page containing a huge list of websites relating to Epidemiology maintained by the Dept of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at U. of California
Actions without Borders A collection of not-for-profit organizations, services, guides, directories, and publications.
