Acquisition of a satisfactory level of diagnostic competence, medical knowledge, interpersonal skills and communication skills.
Duties & Responsiblities
Gross examination, microscopic examination, presentation of cases in various intradepartmental and interdisciplinary conferences (Daily Consensus Conference, monthly Journal Club, weekly Surgical Case Conference, 3x a month at noon Surgical Case Conference, Tumor Board, Breast Conference, Clinical Pathological Conference and Medical Case Conference) and performance of autopsies.
Evaluation
Resident does gross examination under supervision of attendings; attendings give feedback on the gross description of the specimen; resident signs-out cases with attendings; resident attends all the conferences; resident is evaluated during sign-outs and unknown conferences and is given feedback; at the end of the rotation, an evaluation form is filled out by the director with input from all the attendings.
