The Anatomic Pathology division is staffed by board certified pathologists who offer expertise in a broad range of subspecialties, including Autopsy/Forensic Pathology, Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, Neuropathology, Renal Pathology, Environmental Pathology, Ophthalmic Pathology and Electron Microscopy.
The service is supported by a state-of-the-art Histology and Special Procedures Laboratory that provides extensive molecular testing in addition to routine histochemistry and immunohistochemistry. Diagnoses are clearly stated and are provided in a timely fashion. Active communication with clinicians is a standard part of the service. A wide range of clinically applicable research is performed both within the Division and in collaboration with other departments.
Clinical Pathology offers a comprehensive test menu to meet the needs of a high volume, tertiary care hospital laboratory. Well-trained and experienced laboratory professionals perform routine to highly-complex laboratory testing, provide expert consultations in laboratory medicine, and participate in training programs for pathologists and medical technologists.
In addition to standard laboratory testing, the division offers extensive specialized testing in the areas of blood bank, hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and cytogenetics.
