Specimen Requirements

Arterial or Venous Whole Blood
Minimum Volume:100 uL
Collection:Avoid air bubble in the syringe. If present, remove immediately. Mix sample well and test immediately or results may be altered.
Stability:Test immediately
Container:Lithium Heparin Syringe (filled to capacity)
Rejection Causes:Avoid drawing specimen from an arm with IV, stasis (tourniquet left on longer than one minute), fist pumping, hemolysis, clotted specimen, excessive air bubbles, icing sample, time delays, or incompletely filled Lithium Heparin syringes.
