Parking Assignments
Monthly Parking
SUNY Upstate Medical University Employees/Students/Staff/Contract Services
Employees seeking access to the SUNY Upstate parking system will be assigned to an off-campus lot or one of the garages based on space availability at the time of request. Off campus assignment location will be contingent upon availability of space. Upstate currently maintains a number of off campus lots that are accessible via shuttle. Anyone assigned off-campus who elects to pay the full rate starting January, 2004, will be allowed access to the SUNY Upstate Garage West between 2:00 pm and 6:00 am weekdays, anytime on weekends, and major holidays. A discounted rate is currently available to employees not intending to use Upstate GarageWest during off hours.
New assignments to the Upstate Garage West garage are limited to administrators, department directors and physicians. As space becomes available, employees on the waiting list will be assigned to the requested garage.
Contractor and Vendor Parking
On campus contractor and vendor parking is limited to the Upstate Parking Garage East, a public facility, and limited metered parking. Daily parking is at the posted rates. Monthly parking, as space permits, is available at $75 plus tax. Requests should be submitted to the Parking Office. Depending on availability, long-term contractor and vendor parking is available off-campus at a negotiated rate.
Waiting List
Waiting lists are maintained as demand dictates. This can apply to either garage or off campus parking lots.
Assignments to A, B, Hutchings, Madison Towers, Madison-Irving, and Murbro lots are based on department allocations with assignments made by the department chairs/directors.
Daily Parking
SUNY Upstate Medical University Employees/Students/Staff/Contract Services
All employees, students and Contract Service employees seeking daily parking can utilize the Upstate Parking Garage East Public Garage.
Reduced rates are available for daily parking at the Madison-Irving garage during regular business hours and at the Upstate Garage West after 2:00 pm and before 6:00 am weekdays and all times on weekends and major holidays. Tokens must be purchased at the parking office in advance in order to enjoy the discount. Tokens can be purchased at the E-Lot booth when the Parking Office is closed.

Other Parking
Volunteers
All volunteers are assigned to the Upstate West Garage. Access is available at the Sarah Loguen entrance. Access is via use of an assigned I.D. card and is free of charge upon being enrolled by parking through the Volunteer office. A reserved area is available on the first floor of the garage.
Emeritus Faculty/Council Members/Volunteer Faculty
All emeritus faculty/council members/volunteer faculty are assigned to A- or B-Lots and park free of charge.
Overflow Parking
Whenever the garage or surface lot reaches capacity, with an allowance made for accommodating second shift employees, the garage will close. Upon closure, all employees will be directed to an off-campus lot as determined by the parking office
