For those women whose tubes are not severely damaged and have a normal HSG, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) may be an option. In this fairly simple procedure, special washed sperm is placed within the uterus around the time of ovulation. The woman's eggs are allowed to travel down her tubes on their own. Ovulation induction combined with IUI is often the first step of treatments. IUI combining clomid offers 9% pregnancy rate per cycle. Gonadotropins combined with IUI may boost this up to15–20% per cycle pregnancy rate.
