Cascade CMS Updates

Feature

The latest update from Hannon Hill, Cascade version 7.8.1, has some great new features that make the CMS even easier to use.  There is now a drag-and-drop interface for adding photos, files and documents. There is a new Relationships tab for publishing files and the related components. In addition, a new auto-save feature saves documents, so in the event of a crash or error, your work is not lost.

Find the full list of upgrades and enhancements in the Hannon Hill Knowledge Base.

As always, if you have any questions regarding the website, email us at EDCOMCWT@upstate.edu.

More Sites go Online

We are continuously migrating web sites into the CMS.  Here are some of the most recent sites:

Stale Content Tool

stale content Another of the new features in the recent Cascade update is the Stale Content Tool.  This allows website editors to quickly, and in an easy to read, graphical format, see just how much of their website is current or old.  The interval for differentiation can be set for any date, from 5 days up to 1 year or more.  In the future, we hope to tie this data to an automated email to alert department managers and web editors, to keep them appraised of the relevancy of their content.

Cascade CMS Training Classes

trainingAs more and more sites are migrated into our CMS, we have begun providing training classes for website editors.  These classes are hands-on sessions to review the basics of the CMS and how to do most common functions that our editors do.  As your site(s) is completed, or nears completion, you'll be contacted about training on the CMS. In the interim, you can review the Training Website for information on navigating and using the CMS.
