Study will see if vitamin D supplement decreases breast density, reducing breast cancer risk

Upstate Medical University is recruiting women for a clinical trial to see if taking vitamin D daily for one year will decrease breast density and alter biomarkers associated with a risk for breast cancer.

Lung Cancer Vigil 2011

Families touched by lung cancer joined Upstate Medical University faculty and students for a candlelight ceremony raising awareness of lung cancer. The Nov. 1 event coincided with the beginning of Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung and bronchus cancers are the most lethal, accounting for 16.1 percent of cancer diagnosis and 30.5 percent of all deaths.
