Upstate Medical University participates in the Syracuse Veterans Day Parade.

Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces from Upstate Medical University along with their friends, families, and some employees who are active guard or reservists march in the Syracuse Veterans Day Parade. This is the second year Upstate has participated in the parade. More than 300 Upstate employees and students are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, and close to 40 employees are active members of the guards and reserves.

Upstate students, staff gather to shine light on the deadliest cancer, lung cancer. Vigil will include reflections from people whose lives have been touch by cancer. More people die of lung cancer than breast, prostate, colon, liver, kidney and melanoma cancers combined.

Worker health, safety are top issues at Job Fairness event Oct. 16

A conference to help job applicants and workers cope with their health and safety rights will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Huntington Family Center, 405 Gifford Street, Syracuse. The event is sponsored by Upstate Medical University's Occupational Health Clinical Center.
