SUNY Upstate's Greenberg receives Lifetime Achievement Award from CNY Psychological Association

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Roger P. Greenberg, Ph.D., professor of clinical psychology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Central New York Psychological Association.

Greenberg, who directs the psychology division in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at SUNY Upstate, was honored for his contribution to the field of psychology. He received the award Dec. 3.

An internationally known researcher and speaker, Greenberg is author of more than 200 publications and presentations, including The Scientific Credibility of Freud's Theories and Therapy (Columbia University Press, 1985), which was selected by the National Library Association and Psychology Today as one of the ten best books in the field of behavioral sciences. Most recently he authored The Art and Science of Brief Psychotherapies: A Practitioner's Guide (American Psychiatric Association Press, 2004).

Greenberg's work has often been cited in various media outlets, including in the New York Times, Newsweek, Scientific American, Psychology Today.

Greenberg resides in Fayetteville.
