Enrollments are now being taken for Health Science Center's Mini-Medical School, which runs March 2 to April 6

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to attend medical school the College of Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center is giving you the chance to find out.

Back by popular demand, the college is again offering its Mini-Medical School to the general public.

"Our aim is to get people excited as to what medical school is all about," explained director Robert Richman, M.D., who modeled the program after successful efforts in other states. "We have energetic faculty who explain the science of medicine without resorting to big words or dry topics."

In fact, no science background is needed to enjoy the courses -- just a healthy dose of curiosity.

The six-week program runs Tuesdays March 2 through April 6 from 7 to 9:15 p.m. and is open to persons of all ages. Each session will include two 45-minute presentations taught by top faculty and a refreshment break. Classes will be held in Medical Alumni Auditorium of Weiskotten Hall, 766 Irving Ave., Syracuse. The registration fee is $35 and includes course materials. For more information, or to register, call (315) 464-4304.

The SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse consists of four colleges, including the College of Medicine, and University Hospital. It is the only medical school between Rochester and Albany.
