The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall central administration, supervision and coordination of the SUNY institutions.

“I am honored by the opportunity to serve as a member of the SUNY Board of Trustees and look forward to working with newly appointed Chancellor Nancy Zimpher at this time of great challenge and opportunity for SUNY,” Murad said.

At Hancock & Estabrook LLP, Murad has served as the chair of the firm’s Litigation Department and on its Executive Committee.

Murad holds memberships in numerous law associations, most notably as fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the International Association of Defense and Corporate Counsel.

Murad has been active in numerous community organizations, including the local chapter of the American Red Cross, serving as its board chair, and Onondaga County Historical Association.

Murad received his undergraduate degree cum laude from Hamilton College in 1980 and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1983.
