Donations for Mary Nelson’s Backpack and School Supplies Drive sought

Robert B. Barlow Vision Research Seminar is July 17
Rachel W. Kuchtey, MD, PhD, associate professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at Vanderbilt University, will present Fibrillinopathy and Elastosis in Glaucoma Wednesday, July 17 at 4 p.m. in 4709 Neuroscience Research Building.

Retirement reception for Michael Lyon is July 25
A retirement reception for Michael Lyon, PhD, will be held July 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. in 4414A Academic Building. Lyon retires after 42 years of service in Otolaryngology and Cell and Developmental Biology. Lyon also served as past UUP chapter president. The Upstate community is welcome.
5thannual Transplant Golf Tournament is Aug. 2
The 5thannual Transplant Golf Tournament will be held Friday, Aug. 2 at Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club in Cicero. Proceeds benefit the Upstate University Hospital Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, held at the Upstate Foundation, that assists post-transplant patients with out-of-pocket expenses to ensure that their health care needs are met to maintain the life and longevity of their transplanted organ. Spiritual Care Journal Club is Aug. 7

Online training programs available through New York State and CSEA Partnership for Education and Training
Two new online learning certificate programs for CSEA-represented New York State employees are now available.
The Highly Effective Office Assistant Certificate Program provides a self-directed way for employees to enhance their administrative and clerical skills. Employees can apply for this program between July 26, 2019 and Jan. 30, 2020. The Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 Certificate Program is open to those who seek to become proficient in the PowerPoint application. Save the date: Second annual Bottoms Up One Club Golf Tournament is Sept. 7
The second annual Bottoms Up One Club Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 7 at Burnet Park Golf Course. Registration is $75 and proceeds support the Upstate Colon Cancer Fund. Participants are allowed to bring one club to play nine holes in a captain and mate tournament, with breweries at each hole for craft beer sampling. Registration includes lunch, give-a-ways, tastings, and greens fees. An after party and 10thHole Putting Contest will be held at Now and Later Pub.
