11th annual Maureen T. O’Hara Teal There’s a Cure 5k Walk/Run is July 4 

The 11th annual Maureen T. O’Hara Teal There’s a Cure 5k Walk/Run will be held Thursday, July 4, at Marcellus Park, Marcellus, at 9 a.m. Proceeds benefit ovarian cancer research, education and awareness including research at Upstate Medical University, and the Maureen T. O’Hara Teal There’s a Cure Fund, held at the Upstate Foundation, which provides ovarian cancer patient assistance. Nominations for Excellence in Healthcare Awards due July 15

Nominations for 2019 Excellence in Healthcare awards, sponsored by BizEventz and Bankers Healthcare Group, are being accepted through July 15. Recognition will be given in the following categories: Ambulatory Surgery Center of Distinction, Healthcare Facility of Distinction, Excellence in Dentistry, Excellence in Medicine, Excellence in Surgery, Excellence in Veterinary Medicine, Excellence in Nursing, Outstanding Physical Therapist, Outstanding Hospital Executive, Heart of Healthcare, Impact Players, Outstanding Rising Star, and Healthcare Innovator.Awards will be presented Oct. 16. 5th annual Transplant Golf Tournament is Aug. 2

The 5th annual Transplant Golf Tournament will be held Friday, Aug. 2 at Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club in Cicero. Proceeds benefit the Upstate University Hospital Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, held at the Upstate Foundation, that assists post-transplant patients with out-of-pocket expenses to ensure that their health care needs are met to maintain the life and longevity of their transplanted organ. A scholarship will be awarded to a pediatric transplant recipient. 19th annual Biomedical Sciences Retreat is Sept. 10; registration ends Aug. 27

Registration for the College of Graduate Studies’ 19th annual Biomedical Sciences Retreat is now open. The retreat will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10 at The Lodge at Welch Allyn Conference Center. Registration closes Aug. 27 at noon.  

Registrants are eligible to submit an abstract and present a poster at the retreat. The deadline for abstract submissions is Aug. 20 at noon. Guidelines for submitting are available at www.upstate.edu/grad/about/retreat/index.php
