Urgent need for donors for blood drive Oct. 14
There are still openings for Red Cross blood drive Friday, Oct.14. The drive is being held from 8:45 to 1 p.m. in Café 750 on the second floor of Upstate University Hospital. To schedule an appointment, contact Linda Underwood at 464-6755 or email@example.com. Walk-ins are always welcome, although appointments are strongly recommended to minimize wait time.
Last day to register to vote is Oct. 14
A reminder that the last day to register to vote for the Nov. 8 election tomorrow, Oct. 14. Individuals not registered, should contact the Board of Elections in your home county for information on how to register, which can be done in person, by mail or online. Hispanic Heritage Month activities are Oct. 14 and 20
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), and guests from Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Syracuse will host a Heart Health and Wellness Program Friday, Oct. 14 from noon to 1 p.m. in the atrium of the Setnor Academic Building and Thursday, Oct. 20 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Community Room at Community Campus. Learn popular Latin dances like the Salsa, Merengue, Bachata and the Cha Cha. Light refreshments will be served and the American Heart Association will be on hand to offer information on heart health in both English and Spanish. For more information, call Nakeia at 464-5234.
Upstate to sponsor opening night of Syracuse Crunch Oct. 15
Upstate University Hospital will celebrate the heroic work of CNY’s first responders at the Syracuse Crunch home game Oct. 15 against the Rochester Americans at the War Memorial. All fans in attendance for the home opener will receive Crunch thunder sticks, courtesy of Upstate University Hospital. The game will be highlighted by an opening ceremony featuring first responders, including firefighters, police officers and EMTs from Upstate University Hospital. The Crunch will be joined by the first responders as they accompany the team onto the ice during player introductions. Special tickets are available for credential first responders. E-Race Cancer Half Marathon and 5K is Oct. 16
The 2016 E-Race Cancer running event will support the Integrative Oncology Program at Upstate Cancer Center. The Oct. 16 event begins at 8:30 a.m. with the half marathon course that will start/finish inside Van Buren Park in Baldwinsville. The 5K will begin immediately after the half marathon finish. In addition to the foot races, a fall festival will feature a Farmers' Market, food vendors, pony rides, bounce houses and a chicken BBQ. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is Oct. 16

Monday, Oct. 17 at noon, Mass with Father Innocent. Blessing of the hands in the basement and first floor.
Tuesday, Oct. 18 at noon, prayer services with Deacon Dutter. Blessing of the hands on floors 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Wednesday, Oct. 19, blessing of the hands on floors 6 and 7.
Thursday, Oct. 20, blessing of the hands on floors 8, 9 and 10.
Friday, Oct. 21, blessing of the hands on floors 11 and 12.
