Professor Brent Vogt, PhD
The Brent Vogt laboratory's interest is in the structure, connections, functions and neuropathologies of cingulate cortex. All pain behaviors and chronic pain models engage cingulate cortex and we are attempting to detail the circuits in cingulate cortex that convert a brief sensory code (~200-300 msec duration) that originates in the midline, mediodorsal and intralaminar thalamic nuclei to long-duration responses (1-2 secs).
