Now is a very exciting time in our department. With the advent of new imaging and molecular techniques, scientific doors that were previously closed have been flung wide open.

Faculty in our department are taking advantage of these new approaches in their integrative studies that range from molecular to systems biology and behavior. Our research focuses on neuroscience, and particularly on developmental neuroscience.

Neuroscience Program

The graduate program in Neuroscience is a multidisciplinary, interdepartmental program with three main areas of focus: Cell and Molecular Neuroscience, Development and Regeneration, and Integrative Systems Neuroscience.

Physiology Program

Physiology is focused on understanding the biological mechanisms that support living things.  As a discipline it therefore encompasses many fields and employs a host of biochemical tools to delve deeply into how atoms, molecules and cells, of the organs in the different organs systems carry out the chemical and physical reactions to support a living system and help it respond to the environment.

With an emphasis on high end research, and the philosophy that Physiology is an integrative science, this cross-departmental, multidisciplinary program provides students with an opportunity to explore the area of Physiology best suited to their personal and educational goals.
