Hometown/place of birth: New Delhi, India

Medical school and location: Saba University School of Medicine Saba, Netherlands-Dutch Caribbean

Special interests and future plans: The fields that I'm interested in the most at this point are Pulmonary/CCM and Infectious Disease. I eventually hope to pursue academia and teaching. I would also like to take my training abroad and participate in Doctors Without Borders.

Interests/hobbies outside of medicine: I love getting away to the outdoors for a refreshing hike or swim. I am also a huge sports fan and love to play hockey, basketball, golf, and tennis. When indoors, my passion is the culinary arts, as I find it both therapeutic and a great way to express myself.

Languages spoken, other than English: French (un peu) Hindi

Why you decided to come to our program: From the moment I arrived in Syracuse I had a gut feeling that SUNY Upstate was special. The residents were all friendly, intelligent and people I saw myself getting along with both inside and outside the hospital. The facilities and faculty were outstanding, the research and fellowship options were abundant, and being Canadian, the nearby border and an onsite Tim Horton's were selling points.
