Special interests and future plans: I most definitely want to pursue a career in academic medicine. I love general medicine, but am also interested in the specialties of gastroenterology and pulmonology/intensive care. Who knows though, I may love something completely different! Only time will tell.

Interests/hobbies outside of medicine: My favorite hobby outside of medicine is spending time with my family. I also enjoy putting in hours at the gym and watching baseball (Go Yanks!). My secret passion is cooking/baking. if I didn't pursue a career in medicine this is what I would be doing. In fact, I dream of owning my own bakery and specialty dessert/ice cream shop one day. We NEED one in Syracuse!!

Languages spoken, other than English: I speak a little bit of Spanish but would not say I'm fluent.

Why you decided to come to our program: decided to come to Upstate for many reasons, the most important being that I wanted to stay close to my family. They have been my biggest support system and I don't know what I would do without them. I also loved the dynamics of the program and truly felt like I was joining my second family. The attendings and residents are wonderful and so easy to work with. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming which I think is a huge bonus of this program.
