University Geriatricians is the most comprehensive program
of its kind in the area providing care for the needs of older
people. It is comprised of a team of compassionate specialists
who dedicate themselves to geriatric medical issues.
The
team administers ongoing care when necessary, offers
outpatient consultation services, and operates clinical
services for the Alzheimer’s
Disease Assistance Center of
Central New York.
The program provides patients
and their families with a complete range of services including
evaluation of the older adult’s medical, functional, cognitive
and psychosocial problems.
In collaboration with the
patient’s primary care physician, a holistic family approach
is developed to assist family members in making various
medical decisions in the care for their loved one.
This program can benefit a wide variety of seniors, including
those who suffer from general frailty, chronic pain, falling,
incontinence, memory loss, multiple chronic illnesses,
and much more.
LinkAges is a new program at Upstate Medical University's College of Medicine, funded thru the Geriatric Program Fund, intended to improve geriatric care by advancing student-patient relationships. More >
