Geriatricians

Sharon Bragman, MD Sharon A. Brangman, MD, FACP, AGSF

Sharon A. Brangman, MD has been on the faculty at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York since October 1989. She is currently Professor of Medicine and Division Chief of Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Medicine. She is the director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program and is director of the Central New York Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center.

Dr. Brangman received her undergraduate degree in biology from Syracuse University and her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse in 1981. She completed residency training in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, New York, where she also completed fellowship training in geriatric medicine. Dr. Brangman is certified in internal medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society, and was elected to the board of the American Geriatrics Society in May, 2002.

Jeanne Bishop, MDD. Jeanne Bishop, MD

Jeanne E. Bishop, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She has received her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in Chemistry, her graduate degree from Stanford University in Physical Therapy and her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Bishop completed her residency training in internal medicine at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, New York and her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at UCLA Multicampus Division of Geriatrics, Los Angeles, CA. She is certified in internal medicine and has her Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine. She is also a Certified Medical Director through the American Medical Directors Association.

In addition, she is the Medical Director of James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Syracuse, New York.

Dr. Bishop recieved the Hospice Anita Award: "For Active Listening, Presence at the Bedside, and Highest Standards of Practice in End-of-Life Care" 2003.

Anne Bucci Anne Bucci, Administrative Assistant to Dr. Sharon Brangman

Anne Bucci has been with the Division of Geriatrics for over 16 years. Her experience stems from working for the Dementia Evaluation Clinic, the Geriatric Assessment Clinic to currently the Administrative Assistant to the Division Chief, Geriatric Medicine.

Kay Mevec


Kay E. Mevec, MPA , Director of Geriatric Education

Kay received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Grand View College and her Masters of Public Administration from Drake's College of Business and Public Administration in DesMoines, Iowa.

She is a memeber of the local Alzheimers Chapter, State Society for Aging of New York, the American Society on Aging, and the Gerontoligical Society of America. Kay is also the co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network Motorcycle Ride Foundation. She has been at SUNY Upstate Medical University for over 17 years and is actively involved in programs to promote health care services/education for the community.
