The Medical Reserve Corps will play an integral part in our local and regional preparedness and response strategy. It provides an organized way for medical and public health volunteers to offer their skills and expertise during local crises and throughout the year. Locally-based MRC volunteers can assist during large-scale emergencies, such as an influenza epidemic or an act of terrorism. MRC volunteers also work to strengthen the overall health and well being of their neighborhoods and communities. We would like to invite you to participate on the CNY Regional MRC. As a MRC member, you will be offered training in disaster management, incident command strategies, local disaster plans, recognition of biological and chemical contaminants, CPR and other pertinent topics. You will have opportunities to network and work with medical professionals from your county and across central New York. The CNY Regional MRC will work closely with county Departments of Health and Emergency Management offices.
